British National Event . . . 8th – 15th June 2024
We are trying Pilgrimage in a different way for 2024. To enable our members who need a bed each night or can only walk short distances to join us, we have booked a large holiday let cottage close to the Dorset coast for a week, 8th to 15th June 2024. This will be our only British Pilgrim event in the year.
The normal Pilgrim lifestyle of daily worship and discussion time, a daily walk (based upon ability), shared cooking and meals eaten together will give a structure to our week.
If you are not able to join us for the whole week, please do book for part of it … it will be good to see you, even if only for a day or two.
Our cottage sleeps 15 people (we cannot exceed that number). It is in the country just over a mile to the east of the village of Wool (which is the nearest railway station), and about five miles north of the Dorset coast at Lulworth Cove. There are plenty of nearby coastal and inland walks to explore.
If you plan to join us on Saturday 8th June please do no arrive before 5 p.m. Our first meal will be about 7.30 p.m. If you are arriving by train a lift from Wool station can be arranged. If you will be leaving on Saturday 15th please arrange to have left by 10.00 a.m.
If you are coming for part of the week please make that clear on your booking form by saying which will be your first meal and which will be your last. As places are limited it is important that we know when members plan to come and go, so that, for example, a member who is leaving early might ‘hot place’ with someone who is arriving later in the week.
As places have to be capped at 15 it is important that you send in a booking form as soon as possible and not later than Easter Sunday, 31st March … places will be allocated on a first come basis and booking will close on 31st March.
If you expect to join us but have concerns that health or other issues may stop you at the last minute, it is important that you book early … it is easier to handle cancellations than try to fit people in at the last minute. If all the places are allocated when you send in your form you will be told that you are on a waiting list.
The cost will be £20.00 per day, making £140.00 for the whole week. For those whose only income is a basic state benefit, or who is a full time student, the cost is £15.00 per day, £95.00 for the whole week.
Please join us for this exciting development in our Pilgrim journey. If you have any questions please contact me.
See you in Dorset,
